Matt Musser, CPA has returned to United Zion as the Chief Financial Officer. During the last several years, Musser was the controller at Community Action Partnership and then the controller at Mennonite Home. Prior to that Musser was the controller at United Zion and a senior manager at Baker Tilly. He is a Cocalico High School graduate and received his bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting from Millersville University. CEO Sue Verdegem states, “I am excited to have Matt rejoin the United Zion family. His depth of experience in senior living and non-profits as well as his prior time here at United Zion will be such as asset to the team.”
Musser finds that working in senior living communities gives his work a strong sense of purpose due to being able to see the impact it makes on the lives of the residents. He is excited to be back at United Zion due to the small community atmosphere where he gets a chance to know residents and staff alike. He states his goal as CFO “is to ensure the long term financial viability of our community as well as make an impact on the lives of the residents, families, and employees that we serve here. I’m hopeful that God will use me in whatever way is needed whether it be for financial reasons or other reasons”.
Musser will be a core part of the team overseeing the new chapel and entrance renovation project that will take place this spring at United Zion. To learn more about this project, visit https://www.uzrc.org/giving/heart/.
