United Zion Retirement Community is thrilled to announce the opening of its Lexington Restaurant Wednesday, August 12th after a three month renovation project. The renovation updated the look of the space, expanded the area for dining and created a gathering space for residents.

The brand new kitchen allows for an expanded menu featuring made-to-order dishes as well as two specials at every meal. Lexington now offers grab and go options and carryout in addition to its delivery and waited table service. The gathering space features a fireplace and cozy seating for gathering as well as extra space for game playing and eating.  

Residents have been thrilled at the new options in the grab and go that include Lancaster County favorites like red beet eggs and Lebanon bologna as well as sandwiches, wraps, desserts, yogurt parfaits. The menu stayed affordable with all options including the three-course meal priced at $7 or less. 

Sue Verdegem, CEO of United Zion, states, “This project to renovate the dining space at United Zion is truly enhancing everyday living. It has opened so many opportunities for new activities, new ways of dining, and so much else. Residents keep telling me how much they are loving the openness of the space. The project also had the added benefit of adding some additional flexibility for us in the age of COVID-19 regulations. This project along with next year’s chapel auditorium project will really transform United Zion and get us ready for the future.”

Paul Risk Construction was the contractor for this project. This recent renovation was the first phase of a two phase plan to renovate the public spaces at United Zion. Next year, United Zion will be creating a larger chapel and mix use space off the main lobby.
