United Zion Retirement Community is excited to announce Maria J. Pascoe the new Director of Nursing.

Pascoe is a Register Nurse with over 20 years of experience. She was most recently the Assistant Director of Nursing at Susquehanna Valley Nursing and Rehab in Columbia, PA.  She received her nursing degree from Luzerne County Community College in Nanticoke, PA.

“I am eager and enthusiastic to apply my 20 plus years of experience in long-term care in United Zion Retirement Community’s newly remodel healthcare center as the Director of Nursing,” states Pascoe, “I am looking forward to being part of this tremendously caring team and contributing to the quality care that United Zion provides.”

Pascoe will be managing the skilled nursing team and other professionals in the newly remodeled and expanded healthcare center for long-term care and short-term rehabilitation. The updated healthcare center of 59 private rooms is now grouped into smaller skilled care neighborhoods of 12-17 residents each. Each neighborhood has its own kitchen, dining room and living area. This change to the neighborhood model supports United Zion’s person-centered approach to care.
