United Zion offers 24-hour professional skilled nursing care for both short-term rehabilitation for recovery from an illness, injury, or surgery as well as long-term care for individuals facing increasingly complex medical needs. Therapeutic services, coordinated through a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals, focus on restoration of an individual’s maximum independence. For end of life needs, we offer comfort care and supportive hospice services to ease this critical time of life.
Our private accommodations provide enhanced privacy while offering nearby common areas and comfortable dining spaces. Convenient outdoor spaces provide stunning views of Lancaster County farmland. The common areas and outdoor spaces provide plenty of room for all our various social and recreational activities.
As a Life Plan Community (also called Continuing Care Retirement Community), United Zion is certified for both Medicare and Medicaid Services.

What Services Are Included?
Skilled nursing care includes RN oversight with direct care by LPNs and certified nursing assistants. Physical, occupational, and speech therapy include the latest techniques to restore an individual’s maximum independence, coordinating with social services, spiritual care, therapeutic recreation, and dining services to provide a lifestyle-oriented approach. A variety of educational, social, spiritual and recreational programs offer personal fulfillment suited to one’s own interests. What Accommodations Are Available?
Each of our skilled nursing care accommodations is a private room with fully accessible bath and storage spaces and a window to our lovely hilltop views. Many of our private rooms have their own dedicated bath; others share a bath in a suite arrangement with one other room. A wellness suite, hair salon, library, community rooms, and chapel enhance the choice of services and activities. What Help is Available to Cover the Cost?
In addition to an individual’s own personal resources, United Zion is Medicare and Medicaid certified, enabling acceptance of all supplemental plans and long-term care insurance. How Does the Admission Process Start?
Completion of the application and providing supporting documents along with appropriate medical information is the first step. If coming from home, a home visit is preferred to establish a plan of care best suited to an individual’s needs and goals.
