Our Groundbreaking Ceremony For Cedar Heights Will Be On May 2nd! Click Here to Learn More

Friday, November 18,  2022

Join us online or in person to help support United Zion Retirement Community’s mission to provide high-quality services to seniors, whether or not their care needs have outpaced their ability to pay. The Extraordinary Give is the largest day of online giving in Lancaster County. 2021 marks the 10th year of this amazing event that raises millions each year for non-profits in Lancaster County. With the help of the ExtraGive’s great sponsors, the Lancaster County Community Foundation is able to offer matching funds for the donations that come in during this 24 hour period.

In 2021, we raised over $18,000 during the Extraordinary Give, all of which went towards benevolent care. The funds raised helped United Zion cover the more than $2 million in unreimbursed care we provide annually to residents who have found themselves unable to pay for the full cost of their care. On average, each resident on benevolent care needs over $200/day extra in support.

We value your partnership in meeting these needs! Please consider donating this year. All donors who donated to United Zion though Extraordinary Give have opportunity to come to our Baked Potato Bar from 10AM – 6PM on November 18th at United Zion (722 Furnace Hills Pk, Lititz PA 17543).

What is the Extraordinary Give?

The Extra Give is the largest day of online giving in Lancaster County. By donating online at ExtraGive.org,  your money goes even further due to the stretch pool of funds and additional prizes.

I donated, where do I get the baked potato bar?

I need help donating online

Stop by United Zion on Friday November 18th from 10AM – 6PM or give us a call at 717-627-8421.

What is benevolent care?

Benevolent care helps cover the difference between the actual cost of care for a resident and what the resident can afford to pay. In 2021, over 20% of residents received benevolent care support totaling more than $2 million dollars. The rising cost of healthcare means the need for benevolent care grows each year.

Do I have to donated to benevolent care during ExtraGive?

If you would like to direct your donation else where, please let us know. There are many other areas including our Caregiver Fund which includes our emergency assistance fund for team members and Capital Improvement Funds.

I’d like to discuss a Planned Gift or a Charitable Gift Annuity.

Please give Megan a call at 717-627-8421 to discuss your thoughts for Planned Giving or to get more information on our Charitable Gift Annuity (CGA) options.
